I had a problem with coyotes a few weeks ago. Had a few show up and had chickens disapearing left and right, and a few nervous goats on pasture. As soon as I got rid of the flock (annual chicken dispersal before winter) and locked up my turkeys, they have seemed to move on as pickings are slim. Also - we think they may have been attracted to our orchard's fallen fruit. Did you know that coyotes eat rotting fruit?
Just keep the fencing tight, and hot! I added a lower wire along with my top wire (electrified) to keep anyone from trying to get in, or out. Seemed to help. Just keep younger or aged animals closer to the barn, or ina secure area - they're the first to be targeted.

p.s. I think the main control method was that everytime the 22 came with me to feed - I never spotted the coyote. Keep it in the pickup and I havn't yet seen their ugly scraggly hides! They must know better. Hmm.. they also disapreared about the same time that their open season for hunting started.. :-)
