Heavy Breathing, bloating..ooohhh nooooo..scruffy look..

Posted by Helene on October 23, 2001 at 15:01:28:

Ok guys got up this morning, fed the goats they all were fine. We have only 3 goats that are 3 months old..going on 4 months the others are close to 10 months.

So this afternoon I go outside and find one of my boer billies (close to 10 months) breathing really heavy. I went over to him and listened for any raspiness and nothing..he just sounds as though he is having a hard time breathing. Also his stomach bloated up. His coat is all scruffy looking, like if you get cocci. I thought that at 10 months this does not happen. Our barn is clean, no scours

He seems to be eating ok..I mean he is not rejecting food. He is not off by himself, just a little slower than the rest. What do you think? Not sure what I should treat him for so I have not given him anything yet. He is not screaming or does not seem to be in pain. I am not quite sure what is going on here..everyone was just healthy.. Oh please help..

Thanx
~helene
