Hi Everyone!
Well, it's only been two days since my girls arrived, and I already have questions. Bet you're wondering what took me so long!! :o) Okay, here goes:
1) The breeder had them on a medicated Purina feed which I was going to gradually switch over to my own feed. I wanted to try to stay away from the medicated. However, my husband was trying to be sweet and he MIXED the two feeds up for me in the feed bin. Now, I can't separate the two. And, to complicate things further, I just discovered that the new feed I was going to use is also medicated (my husband picked it up at the feed store, so I didn't notice until now). So now I've got all this medicated feed. And to make matters worse the goats don't like it...or perhaps they are still stressed from the move? So, the question is this: When I go to breed these does, is it safe to continue to feed medicated feed? Or should I switch to unmedicated during gestation?
2) Because the does have been picking at the feed, I gave them some NutriDrench yesterday. It seemed to help some, but now they are back to not eating much again. When can I drench again? Should I wait to see what happens first?
Thanks!
