Gary, since yesterday I have been doing as much reading as I can about the antibiotics and I think that if I had the Tylan200 that would most definatly have been my first choice. We know so many goat owners around here and they all swear by the LA200, and have never used anything else, that is why my husband bought it in the first place.
But as I said yesterday, I did not have any Tylan on hand, we could not get it at the feed store, (although I think we found a place outside of town that we can get it from but they are out of stock) The sulfa drugs I had ordered were not in yet, and I felt like I had no choice. Yep it did sting some of them, some it did not bother too much. I also see a noticable improvement in the goats we injected with it. The ones who had no desire to eat the other day, ate like food was going out of style today..that is a good sign.
But again, I do not think I am going to be in too much of a rush to use it again, until I try the sulfa drugs or the Tylan200 first.
Now I do have another dilema, although the goats we gave the shots to have their appetite back, and seem to be feeling much better, they have their energy back as well, we have that one wether I am concerned about. He just seems very week. He is about 9 months old, maybe a little younger. He spends most of his time laying down, it is like he is weak. Not raspy, the runny nose was not as bad as the others, temp seems normal, but he is just sluggish. but he is eating the same amount as the others. So now I am stumped.
We brought him in about 2 weeks ago, we did the cocci prevention, and the worming. Also gave him his CD&T which he did not have. Poop seems normal, any suggestions?
