I can't believe a doe that only had a single buck kid at 2, and is dippy in her chine from being fat :) is going to produce much milk anyway! I know lots of lines of Nubians, run them past me! If you are SERIOUS that one day you may want to milk for your profit off the farm then yes cross them. But for sales of kids, of course everyone wants a Nubian. So make sure and take your herd in the direction you want. Musk Rose, Lodestar and the does bred into these bloodlines are the best milkers bar none, they also to look like dairy goats, and most have attachments that are poor, but they do milk. I think anything crosses with Lamancha is a really good way to go in a diary type setting, the Lamancha gives you an incredible will to milk, butterfat, a smaller animal (well sometimes) that milkes better than a Nubian standing on her head. They also milk forever. Easier on the ears and equipment also. Like in my last post unless this doe is a steal, I would pass. There are just way to many does for sale. I am bringing in 8 this next week, for resale. So there are always milkers for sale, especialy this time of the year with folks looking at all the unsold stock from this spring, and the hay barn!!
