Yes there is a test for lungworm Baerman or something like that, I am not at my regular computer. Yes it is contagious, the reason your goat is coughing (if it is lungworm) is that the larve is migrating, as she coughs she projectile coughs the mucous onto your ground or her friends!
Just go ahead and worm her, either with Valbazen 8cc per 100 or Levamisole/Tramisole the injectable one for cattle, use 3cc per 100 orally.
Listen to her lungs really well, lungworm sounds like a small case of pnemonia, like she can't quite cough it up. My girls cough more this time of the year simply because it is so hot and dusty. We have gotten 5 inches of rain this last week, and its still drizzling! We may have fall pastures after all! Vicki
