I have been wondering(along with several TX goat ranchers) if the goat market on these animals is not all but saturated. Like any new animal those tat get in first prosper and the rest are left scrambling. Is the meat market every going to materilize as predicted? Is the boer expansion going to come at the expense of other goat breeds? And finally as we in TX are finding out is the boer even the best range goat(we're pretty sure no on that one)? Currently we can get boers in our area for $75-125. These come with or without registration papers. And I for the first time a few weeks ago saw registered boers for sale in THE SALE BARN. A true first sign that the market is overstocked.
