I took my two 3 mo. old nigerian dwarf does to the vet because of sneezing and runny eyes. She took their temps. Both 105. She put them on oxyetracycline 1cc a day for 5 days. Said it would clear up the eyes and fever. I have to give the injections, and wonder if there is any advice as to the easiest way. One cried and cried after her injection today. I felt soooo bad. Also, there was a little bleeding at the injection site. Did I do something wrong?
One of them also has sore mouth. From what I read the other one will get it also. I wear gloves whenever I have to handle them, then scrub afterword. Can this virus survive outside of the body? I'm so afraid of getting it myself. Should their house and toys be sanitized, in other words, can I get it by touching the things in their pen?
I wish I had done some more homework before I got them, because obvoiusly the guy I got them from didnt take such good care of his animals.
Thanks so much for all your help. We really appreciate it.
