Dear Frank,
Our goats had mites this summer. we took them to the vet and did a skin scraping and that is how we found out they had mites. He gave them an injection of ivomec wormer used primarly on cattle. You can purchase this from about any livestock catalog. Our vet said that ivomec not only takes care of internal parasites but external also. Our goats seem to be better. haven't seen any signs that they still have the mites. knock on wood.Remember ivomec is a wormer, talk to your vet about useing it if you just wormed your goats.(don't want to hurt them.) Oh, and do your goats itch or bite themselves untill they're raw in some places. Maybe even untill they bleed. If they do it probably for sure is mites. Well goata go. Red
