Lori: Now that one is right up my ally .I lime every thing that starts to smell. It also keeps flys from laying eggs in ponds or puddles and also speeds up the drying of mud. Dosent take much. Now be aware There are 2 kinds of lime - white lime is for out houses to burn up our poop[or get rid of a body] GRAY LIME is for goats or gardens or white wash for barns. Its around 12$ for fifty lbs at a chemical plant here in farm country.Remember gray is for goats, and gardens The lime that will burn you and your goats will have a warning on the sack Or should have!!Also It does'nt seem to hurt the chickens or cats.At least not yet.Any thing else-just ask some one here is bound to know ,if we dont know we will find out!!! goat mom
