Keep in mind that without alfalfa we often are feeding "low grade" hay which cuts our overall ration crude protein dramatically. A 16% feed mixed with 10% hay really lowers the overall protein in the ration. The sunflower seeds not only are a good source of protein but also high in fat and fiber. I still like the Protein tubs for pure protein supplementation if formulated specifically for goats. :-)
