Chick Transport Update

Amber Waves Pygmy Goats Dolomite Powder

Got a message from McMurray hatcheries that Northwest Airlines had postponed the deadline for transporting baby chicks until Sept 1. So, I guess their email campaign worked for the time being.

Although I don't order chicks through the mail (my hens seem to keep us in sufficient numbers!) the thing that concerns me with the airlines deciding not to carry the chicks is that they can also decide they aren't going to carry any other type of animal. For those breeders that ship their kids via the airlines that would be a real setback. I am nowhere near that caliber of breeder (YET!!) but I would like to have that option available to me should I need it. I don't know about anyone else, but it would tickle me to death if someone in California wanted one of my babies but there would be no way I could hand deliver!!!

What do you guys think about it? Do you think the chick incident may be leading up to something else?
