Vet got in and not only was the coffin bone smashed but infection had set in and he had to take both the coffin bone and the second phalanx. (The bone above the coffin bone.) Pretty much what I expected when I saw the injury, but still, I'm heartsick. He's just got an absolutely fantastic, sunny, curious, afraid-of-nothing personality. He's a golden retriever in a goat's body. Sigh.
Building a hospital pen for when he comes home ... just bought a bunch of concrete pavers for the floor. He's now a $1,000 free goat!
