When you say "claw" I'm thinking you mean one side of the hoof? If that's the case I don't see why the little guy wouldn't be OK if that's the majority of his problem.

If you want to see something amazing go to the Beaver Dam Spotted Nubians site and look at her pictures. She has a little doe that as a kid caught her leg in the forks of a tree and had to have it amputated. I've seen that little doe in the flesh and she is none the worse for wear! It's amazing to watch her! She is bred every year and has a single kid with no problem. If you weren't aware her leg was missing you probably wouldn't notice!

I hope your little guy is OK. Keep us posted.
