Lynn, most of your probiotic paste are good and need not necessarily be "specific" for a certain animal. All we are doing when we use them is encouraging the growth of good bacteria in the rumen. Probably the best on the market is Vita Charge make by Vita-Ferm Corporation. Actually has infinite shelf life unlike so many others which must carry expiration dates. The product is not activated until it reaches the rumen. Plain Yeast will work also but keep in mind the minute a bag is opened the yeast culture begins to die. Also so many like Fasttrack are very heat sensitive and the Vita Charge product is not.
