We also have had what we thought was a free martin in. They can't just be twin but share a sack with their brother. When the doe was still unbred at 3, she was butchered where no ovaries were found. So she wasn't a freemartin at all.
Moldy hay can cause Listerosis, and yes it could cause abortion. You may want to read up on it and also polio, get some B1/Thiamin on hand, go to saanendoah.com for the dosages if all you can get is Bcomplex. Put out plenty of baking soda and watch them very closely, especially for the first symptoms which will be high fever, then staggering.
