If these are pygmies please be aware that the does can become pregnant as early as 3 months old and a 12 week old buck is "man" enough to do the job. Alot of pygmies grow beards, does, bucks and wethers. My herd queen has one that most bucks would be proud of, LOL! If you castrate a grown and hairy buck he will most likely lose his hair and most of his beard, keeping only what he would have grown as a wether. All that hair is a testosterone driven trait. We castrated a couple of older bucks and within six months they looked like they had been wethers all their lives.
