Oh NO!!!! The lessons we learn sometimes the hard way. Take a deep breath..... it'll hopefully be healed by that time. You got some great advice from Vicki. Just be really meticillous(sp?) about caring for it and it should be ok. Those things happen unfortunatly and we just have to re-group. Good luck! I swear by the comfrey salve/paste. Had a doe with a bad gash in her back foot before the st fair last yr, about a month before, she got it by trying to jump over the iron gate hubby had going into the milk room. she was one of those does that had to get in there all the time. Well, we turned our backs to get the rest of the does up from the pasture and when we got back 10 mins later she was upside down and hanging from her back foot. I used the comfrey paste and she healed up nicely, swelling went down too.

Good luck, I know what you are experiencing, went to our first nationals last yr and i was a wreck.

Bernice
