Hmmmmmm.... this is definately not a pleasant situation for you guy. It sounds a bit like a combo mange and hoof rot. Have you wormed him lately? I think nat hit on some thoughts about this. also as mentioned, try looking between his toes, if it smells bad and has fungus growing in there its probably foot rot. Coopertox works well for clearing up foot rot, at least for ours it had when we got hit 3 yrs ago from some wet weather. i would try treating it by washing it first in a bleach solution. Then trim the hooves, thats the key to improving hoof problems. I would also try worming him with ivomectrin to help with the mange.
