hay
I have a question about feed and hay......I know goats need medicated food.It is 7.00 or more a bag here. Do you have to give it all the time or can you alternate it maybe every month or so with creep pellets? Our 18 goats are more of a hobby to us than a money maker because we cannot stand to get rid of them once we raise them from babies......lol. Its really a sad situation for the pocket book.I also want to know if they have to have hay year round as long as they are on pasture. We have fourteen acres and they roam it all.I know this is probably a no no but we have a calf feeder that we turned into a goat feeder and they get the food free choice. They dont seem to be overeating and i only have one that really makes a pig of herself but she looks swollen up all the time no matter what i feed her. So I put out the baking soda also.I really dont know what im doing but they all look great and slick and healhty to me so should i keep it up since it seems to be working? I dont want to sacrifice their health to save money.
