The delima comes when you try to milk out at the show before class. She may pull milk from her udder floor, but she could also pull it out of her rear udder, making her attachments look droopy. We want to be able to compete, but we also don't want to overfill the does udder. There isn't really an answer in all of this. The first half of lactation I milk normal times, 10 am and 10 pm, even though the show will start at 9am. But the last half of lactation I may milk out at 5pm at the show and honestly freshening in Dec/jan and the last show of the year being September, some of my does will be milked the morning before the show and come to the show with 24 hours of milk in them. Always milk some if the does udder doesn't indent if you press on it, and always milk some if her teats are cooling off. Vicki
