This is one of those personal preference things and everyone has a different idea. I usually leave mine with the herd until I see signs of imminent delivery and then put them in a pen alone. If I am taking the babies I stay pretty close when I see the long string of mucous. If they are to be dam raised I will leave them in the pasture if that is where they want to be, some come and get in a pen. Some don't mind being locked up before delivery and some stress out so it depends on the individual.
