it definatly was not mountain laurel, our goats got into some not too long ago. i left to go to town, checked on the goats and they were fine, i returned 3 hrs later finding them vomiting like crazy and very bad diareah and screaming in pain. My first thought was that they were poisoned and quick called the vet (it was a Sunday)..When I gave him the symptoms he immediatly suspected Mt Laurel and said he would be right over. He walked through the woods and sure enough one bush, with the leaves all eaten off. He treated the goats with pain meds which calmed them down, and some other meds. but we were really not sure if atleast 2 of them would make it..They become totally paralized, we had 2 that were. They almost looked like they were on some nasty pain meds, falling all over the place..I was in tears!! We were very luckey, all survived..The vet had the same problem last year and lost 2 of his goats to it. He suggested we cut the bush down, but did say that it does come back..when it did, to spray it w/some kind of weed killer to kill it totally, which we did
