Another thing I learned here...My Nubie babies and the Munchie/Matilda crosses were getting puffy places under their chins. (This has been my first year with full-blooded anything!) My vet was here for one reason or another and I asked him about it. He looked at the babies and said if it was anyone but me he'd say "Worm 'em!". Since it was me he had no idea but said he'd see what he could find out. About two days later I saw a post asking about the same thing and Vicki (how did I live, or any of my goats for that matter, before Vicki!!) replied that it was common in milk-fed babies with Nubian ancestry and should go away once they are weaned. Since only Mattie's boys had poofy necks, I guess Mattie has some Nubian in her....somewhere! I printed out Vicki's reply and gave it to the vet when he came back for a check up. He said to say Thank You! He told me that since I got a puter he's looking pretty darned smart when somebody asks him a goat question!!! I love that guy!
