Our gals will eat any kind of hay. Whatever is put in front of them, they eat. Thought I would be smart! Fair last year, I told the kids (two legged kind) to get the grassy bales out of the barn so thier bunk would stay full. WRONG!!! They mowed it down! ALL GONE! Took good alfalfa hay the next trip in--they mowed that down too! So, it doesn't matter.
