Hi Red, actually I believe something very different. Any boer or dairy goat can have one, two or three kids with a fertile buck, and good nutrition. Rarely do first timers have triplets but in well grown does they will have two. By the time my does are having their second set of kids most will have triplets. Single kids are rare, and are usually in my biggest fattest older goat who looks like she is going to have 4! And of course it is always one big buckling! Now in my herd the only goats who ever have 4 are does who it runs in their families. Fed the same food, does who only have triplets in their families never have quads! But fed good and older, by the time a doe is having her 3rd set of kids, and if it runs in their families, then yes they will have quads. We have one quad family in our herd, and yes we have at least one set of quads yearly. I prefer twins and triplets, quad kids are to small, and single kids are to large. We haven't lost a quad kid in years, but they do get different care than the rest of the kids. Vicki
