One the milk replacer, I think you would be much happier with your kids using the whole grocery store milk in the first couple of weeks. Once the kids are nibbleing grain, hay and browse than supplementing, and slowly switching to a good non soy milk replacer is less drastic on them since they are getting some calories from the grain. Whatever you do decide I would supplement to replacer with probios or and yougurt, which of course brings your costs of replacer up to milk. Can you perhaps make a deal with the supermarket to purchase and freeze the milk at a discount when it is day old? Or what about another goat operation in your area? Lots of folks using their milk to grow healthy septic tanks this time of the year! Vicki
