Put the lids and rings together in a saucepan and cover with water. Bring just to a boil. Don't do stupid stuff like me and forget to use the tongs to get the lids out of the water. I'm a canning fool too...every time I can I say to myself "You Fool!". And thanks for your thoughts on Trixie. I'll miss her forever but we had some great times.
