Goats getting sick on first day of foraging

I have 4 goats that appear to have developed rumen acidosis after being in the forage field for only 20 minutes. The goats have been fed hay all winter and started to forage in a separate pasture. I am trying to introduce them to foraging gradually. I suspect they went after the eastern white pine sapplings since they are the greenest thing around right now. These goats are vomiting and grinding their teeth. I have administered baking soda in water as a drench. Only 4 goats out of 100 got sick. These goats have free choice hay so they were not really hungry. Be careful when making changes.
