Be careful with just giving individual vitamins unless they are called for in the specific disease.Of course I can't find it now, but I used to have a list of what vitamins are water soluable and what ones are fat soluable.I know that vitamin C is water soluable so if you OD you are only making expensive urine. With fat soluable vitamins if you OD you can cause toxic symptoms.Vitamin C is a natural antibiotic so I give lots of it(and we have very expensive pee!LOL)I also use a mineral block/loose minerals. For 'unthrifty babies' use electrolyte solutions and Calf Manna(nutrient rich)I would beef him/her up with multivitamin suppliments and ride out the sniffles as long as you can (each infection strengthens the immune system)then be very specific about what you use for antibiotics(take samples to the vet for culture). Broad spectrum antibiotics really do a number on 'iffy' immune systems as they kill off everything! (including good bacteria on the rumen).
Oh and when on antibiotices be sure to use lactobaccillus or Probios to keep the good bugs functioning normally.
