OK by the tailweb standard my cashmeres are too fat,my Alpine is just right and my Oberhasli is too thin (I feel like Goldielocks and the three bears!)
They are on pasture and no hay right now (our grass is unbeleivabley lush right now)and i am giving them tree branches etc. They get a 12% grain ration/sweet mix. The Oberhasli is a yearling, her buckling is 6 weeks (and a TANK! so he's getting enough to eat)She is like Nat's Togg,an eating machine! I am giving her 3.5 lbs of grain on the milking stand 2 times a day (or 7 lbs.)plus her regular 1 lb of maintainance. I get 4-5 lbs of milk a day,not sure how much the little guy is getting but obviously plenty. (I never see him nurse, by the way) What can I do to get her weight up? (god I wish I had this problem....: )
