I started to get the carpal tunnel symptoms when I was milking the herd last year.. I thought it was work related, but as soon as I dried off the goats, the numbness, and pains went away. It seemed like the way I was milking compressed the nerves ect in my right hand - no repeats yet this year (knocking on wood) but someone sugested that I try milking from behind the goat if I get problems again. Sounded like a good idea, figured I'd pass it on. Milking with a brace can get a little gross and was difficult for me.

The best of luck for your hands, worse comes worse you can always get a milking machine :-)

As for the doe, I'd definately lutalase anyone rebred after kidding. Yep, they come into heat early - usually cycle "silently" I get to notice them cycling when they are turned out with buck kids a few weeks old and the does try to mount them - which is basically straddling over a little innocient guy, acting all well.. in heat in nice terms :-) Your vet can get you all the drugs as Lutalase is a Rx item.
