Since the blood product could not be heated and still work, I also have worried about this, since it isn't some national show herd which gives the blood. It is quarantined herds that do this, and the one that I knew about near San Diego, I wouldn't want my animals visiting let alone getting blood from them.
Now we have the ID-1 that is from cattle colostrum, I did use this on a buckling this year, I will not use it on my does until we have several kidding seasons of folks using it with no trouble. The fear of Johnes, in this unheated colostrum product and BSE (mad cow) and some forms of mastitis is just to big a threat for me to use it. These are just again my opinions, I am not a vet or scientist! Vicki
