My kids were born the week before and the week after Christmas. They are on 3 bottles 20 ounces a day, they do run around and pick up leaves, dead grass, some hay now and then, but only 2 of the bigger boys are even nibbling at the grain. I will sit in the pen during the day, and run my fingers through the grain, they come to see what mom is doing and sort of sniff through it. Though they do stand up on their kennels, put their heads through to lick at the milkers minerals, baking soda, and yeast, I don't even count the grain as being eaten! They are getting all the calories they need at this point, and water, we don't even put out water buckets for youngsters, from their milk, we don't see them consuming grain until around 8 weeks, old, we do want them to be eating 1 pound of grain each before they are weaned, which is usually 12 weeks or more.
