Our original source of ammonium chloride pipestone.com uses 5# to 10# pounds of ac per ton of feed, my sister the math whiz figured out for us this was 1 teaspoon per head per day. We have 10# per ton in our custom mix, really have not a clue what our new feed, Purina Goat Chow, have not been really happy that they are not forthcoming with the information I am needing, has in their mixes. I am going to mix it into my loose minerals, since I don't thoroughly trust that some things actually get mixed enough into sacked feeds. Goatworld is also selling ammonium chloride, and 5# into your goats loose minerals wouldn't be a big cost and would give you that extra security. With as much as good bucks cost now adays, I like that extra secruity. Haven't heard anything about different breeds having problems. But one thing that we did do ourselves, was to castrate at birth one brother leaving the other brother intact until 9 months old (guessing at the date since I am not at my normal computer), butchering both, even under the microscope we could not see a difference in the maturity, lenghth, width, or diameter of the urethra. We really do think that it is a bunch of hooey that castrating when older gives the urethra a chance to mature..........Vicki
