I really don't think the overeating of the corn and the breathing problems are related. I would take everyones temp that has had raspy breathing, and yes you can use penicillin, though my choice would be Tylan 200. 300,000 unit penicillins are dosed at 3cc per 50 pounds sub q for goats. You must give the complete course of shots which would be 5 to 7 days.

Probios has naturally occuring beneficial bacteria in it. We use this paste during antibiotic courses, and after worming. When you give antibiotics it not only kills bad bacteria it also kills some good ones, and we want to reinnoculate the rumen with good ones. Yogurt works also as long as it has live cultures in it, but it also would take alot of it. "Think septic tank" that really is what a rumen is.

I would watch very carefully the discharge from the doe who had the kid with the cloudy eye. Kids can be born with mycoplasm or chlymidia caused eye infections, from dams who carry this. If she were my doe, I would take a swab of the vagina and send it in for a test. Vicki
