Hi Cathy, I have had all of the same reservations about the use of pourons, given orally. The information on dosage and use we got from Texas A&M, a study they did, course the study I am sure, was totally fecal, not looking at the throat, abortion, or neurological problems in young kids, all things we now know is happening. My biggest concern when I first used this, to check fecals for myself, was that the carrier smelled just like old DMSO which meant on your skin or the goats skin it was going to be immediatly absorbed through your skin and into the blood stream. (wear gloves) So in the mouth, it goes directly into the mucous memebranes an into the blood steam, so really what is left to go down the throat and into the stomach is a guess. I do know on fecal it is a great wormer, but right now a wormer which isn't going to be used on my herd when near term, or on young kids. With the help of others I am collecting as much information on the animals that have aborted or died or had neurogical problems, so that we can have a real discussion about this. Like I said I do not want folks running with the Cydectin rumors like thay have with Valbazen! Lots of folks don't use Valbzen, our broadest specturm white wormer, because of miss information! I don't want to see this happen to Cydectin, we want the facts here. Vicki
