Hi everyone,

Seeing all these posts on kidding this year has got me anxious to see my does kid this spring. Here's my question to all:

What techniques do you guys use to preg-check your does besides the obvious "she didn't come back in heat, and 150 give or take days later she kidded"

One of my does is starting to get a little round in the middle, and the right side is starting to get a little wider (kinda jiggly on the right flank) so I assume this is the start of kids growing rapidly? My other doe is just plain fat, and I'm not sure what's happening there. In the past, I've just waited and seen them bulge up toward the last 2 months, and udder up but with Nationals comming close this year I want to be sure that everything is on track! Plus with days getting longer, if anyone is going to cycle again, it's got to be soon!!!!

I didn't see anyone come back into heat, nor did I notice my buck servicing anyone. I'm just wondering if you can preg check by any other means, other then ultrasound.

Any insite is appreciated! Good luck to everyone kidding now!

Oh yeah! A few months back I wrote a post on Mastitis - a popular topic now I guess :-) and the test came back positive for staph D - just wondering if anyone knew anything about this, or had experience with this strain. I dry treated her, and her udder quickly shrunk back to normal size. Just the only thing bothering me is that it's still a bit "rubbery" on the side. Not swollen, not hot, not big, just a funny texture as compaired to the other half. Hopefully everything is ok, and I'll watch carefully as she bags up later on. I'm guessing I have a little scar tissue now.

Just thought I'd update ya'll. Thanks again!
