I breed my girls only once a year in the fall. If I have a young doe that I think is too small to breed, I won't. I'll hold her over another year. I'd rather skip a year as lose a good doe or stunt her in some way.
Some people breed back to back but I don't. The money I would make is nowhere near as important to me as the health of my girls. I believe they need time to heal and get back in shape so they can have healthy babies the next time. I feel if a doe is bred too much it simply wears her out. In my opinion, it will ruin her health and shorten her life.
I milk six does and I'm hoping that my younger ones do well this year for me so it would defeat the purpose for me to breed them right back even if I were into doing that sort of thing.
