I'll take my best shot at this but I know there's some others out there that can explain this better.
Checking underneath the chin or neck area - she was looking for a symptom that is called "bottle jaw." I'm not quite clear yet on how this works but I think I remember someone saying that it is an indication of the lymph nodes becoming enlarged due to the toxins and worms. The more worms present in the goat, the larger the swelling becomes.
You may want to do a search here on GoatWorld for the keyword "bottle jaw" or "bottlejaw".
If I recall correctly, bottle jaw can also be an indication of other things besides worms as well.
Perhaps a few others can comment on this as well.
