Just about any time you change a goats diet, they will get scours. You mentioned that this goat was off water for a period of time and that he's now back on water. This might account for the scours. His body is readjusting to the dietary change. The Pepto Bismol is a good start - sometimes it might be all that will needed to get the goat "regular" again. You may want to supplement the treatment now with some ProBios, Vitamin B, NutraDrench, ID liquid... Supplements designed to boost immunity, replenish electrolytes, etc. I think overall that the key to remember here is that you want to be consistent in the feeding program before, during and after the show. Whatever changes you make in his diet, make them slowly over time instead of all at once. This applies to the water too.
