How old is the goat?
We had a doe born last March that was fine for the first week, then became sick. The vet thought it was a navel infection and we treated her for that. She seemed better for a day, then got worse.
Nothing was working and the poor girl was in pain and couldn't stand up. This all happened in a couple of days. the vet looked at her again and after much thought and studying decided it was incephalitis. She was in such bad shape we had to have her put to sleep. I had incephalitis several years ago and came close to waiting to long to find out what was wrong, so I know what she was going through.
In both cases the doctor or vet didn't know what caused it, and I don't know if the doe being young had anything to do with it.
I hope this is not the case with your goat, but your problem sounded familar and I thought I should let you know. I would get him to the vet as soon as possible.
