I can't belive how cold it is here. Normally the lake keeps use a bit warmer (Lake Mi) but she doesn't seem to be doing the job right now. I has been below zero for days with the wind chill, I am pretty happy right now that the goats have about 6 weeks to go and the woolies have 5 although by the way some of them look I have my doubts. There is a few crossbred woolies that are shorter than they are wide, Goofy looking things normal sheep with mini legs when they stand up it's getting hard to tell. Then theres Faith my mini Moncha that I just can't seem to sell, and Boer the commercial Boer doe. Both are heavy duty goats just short. They are the site when they waddle through the snow. We went to a rodeo last nite, what a fiasco!!! I'll get to that in a minute. Anyway we got home about midnite and it was cold, who was outside digging in the hay but the mini Moncha Faith. Funny it's very grassy first cut that nobody would even look at this summer now they are slurping it up. So anyway back to the rodeo we live on the lakeshore but not to far from a major hwy the rodeo was about an hour away. It took us over 2 hrs to get there, we drove 25 mph for about 1/3 the way decided to turn around and it got better so we drove 45-50 the rest of the way. Of course we missed the ring of fear. Thats were they have a circle and you stand in it, then they let a mexican fighting bull out. They are small but mean, what would make somebody stand in fron of that much mad burger I don't know. So we get there find a parking spot and take 10 minutes to find our seats, and Levi falls asleep after the 3rd bull rider. Poor kid he had his cowboy hat, cowboy jeans &shirt on and even his boot and chaps. He got so excited and dressed himself then fell asleep!! The rodeo was not nearly as wonderful as we had thought it would be it was not a PBR but some little production. Out of 30 or so ridders only a few were any good and the same went for the bulls. Thankfully only two guys got hurt and only one got it bad, he got stepped on in the twig and berry section and was carried out. So then we loaded back up in the car Levi is still sleeping and headed back home for the 2 hr drive again. After the stress of driving we decided to have a nitecap and watch TV half the nite. Levi promptly woke us up with Goldine is dead. What an eye opener, he bought this fish with his own money and all of her stuff two days later the ingrate dies. I think she was over fed, Levi tried so hard to be a good fish daddy I believe he over did it. So we will again be braving the roads to get him a fish today. Goathater will be leaving soon to get a load of hay as our hay guy is going to Fla. for a week or two. Must be nice I am thinking not that Fla. is really warm now but it's better than here. I will probally be bringing in the hose that we left out in our zeal to go to the lame rodeo. Probally all the animals need water again it's been a daily thing since our heaters died. One stoped working and one works great just electrocutes the horses, so of course we unplugged it. Anyway sorry to be so long and rambly it's just one of those weekends and I thought weekends were for relaxing. : ) Guess not. Gotta run and do some brain storming we have about 40 sheep to get sheered next Sat. and are wondering just how to keep them warm. Also wondering just what I will do with Lizzy and Precious, they are weaner goats living with the lambs. Lizzy thinks she is a sheep and refuses to do anything but cry when removed from them. Precious is just a mini Monchi with ears now living with Lizzy hopefully turning her back into a goat. Lizzy even jumps like a lamb she is so confused. Here I go again you all have a good weekend.
