Thanks Gary,
I think what I will do is then take 1/6th of the already mixed mineral(minus what has already been fed I have to reweigh but could be about 20lbs) and mix it with another 25 lbs I think that should be close. It may still be a lot but less than I was feeding. When I measured AmChl for the mineral I did pull up short I measured the leftovers and I had about 1.5 lbs left in a 2.5 lb bag. Given my old postal scale is correct. As far as mixing it in water here since i don't have juice going to the barn the water freezes and I end up throwing most of it out as ice and have to water 2xs per day and Bubba only drinks a lot when the water first comes out while it is steaming. I was mixing a 1/2 tsp per gallon. Bubba will not eat feed with it on. He is fed a 12 % protein feed 1/4 cup and grass w/some clover hay. He is maintaining weight well and only eats mineral occasionaly, but also gets kitchen scraps, oranges bananas, carrots. tomato, some bread, and tiny amount of broccoli and cabbage(which have a lot of calcium) some of this is cooked, squash once in a while, and fresh greens from salad etc. He eats good, now that I think about it.
Thanks for the help I was thinking about this and thought I would ask. I wish I would have kept my animal nutrition books from college now, oh well.
