Iam not sure why they take it out of the neck on something as large as a goat this is common practice for horses as well and they would have large veins in the legs. It must be very difficult, it could also be the leg skin is hard to penitrate. At the clinic we almost always drew out of the neck on small dogs and cats it is so much easier on the drawer and on the animal. Unless you have a really grumpy cat in that case better get it the first time. Also the small veins collapse easy even if done right. I have not noticed dogs or cats getting the moon face maybe because of the fur. They do drink more though and pee alot. This could go for goats as well I don't know. We only had one goat come into the clinic for stuff other than routien castration and disbudding. She had been attacked by dogs, we lost her it was very sad.
