Dalice-The rice bags stay warm for about 4 or 5 hours with a blanket over them in the house in the bed with someone. My best friend is terminal , had radiation and kemo and was told she cant have her elect blanket any more.Something to do with the radiation she had. She is always burning up or freezing.The hospice nurse that comes here told us about the rice bags and they really work. they can be reheated really fast. the first one we made was only about 1 foot X 1 foot the ,next one was about one half of an old pillow case.Keep the rice loose so you can wad it up and heat it.Even in a pan if need be.
Outside -I dont know how long they last ,as I bring my kids and moms inside to my bed room or the heated milk trailor depending on thier condition.
