Hi Linda,
I've seen these tubs and we sell them at work. I was not aware that they had any yet specifically for goats. We have a few different types - 12%, 20%, Hi-Mag and a Fescue tub. From what I know in talking to the cattle owners who buy these, there are some people that swear by them, others that say they are not worth the effort and money. In my opinion there are a couple of ways to look at these - 1) if your feeding program is such where extra supplementation is a must. A good example would be if you live in an area that has certain deficiencies, your pasture or hay supply is of poor quality, etc. 2) if you can get the type of tub that is closest to what is required for a balanced mineral mix for goats. From what I have seen on these tubs, the 12% and the Hi-Mag tubs are the best. You don't want to go with the 20% or the Fescue lick tubs as they are too high in protein, but again, this largely depends upon what else you are feeding in addition to the tub.
If you are aware of a CrystalLxy tub that is made specifically for goats, please let me know. The only ones I've seen so far are for cattle.
Best regards,
Gary
