Hi everyone. This is our first post here and we enjoy reading comments from everyone. We have been "goat farmers" for only a few months and so far enjoy the experience. Presently we have 4 milk goats and plan to expand as rapidly as we can afford it.
Now we have a question. We will be building a barn for them and our other animals (rabbits, chickens, dogs, and who knows what else). We are planning on the old type barn with the loft and stable areas with the hallway just large enough for a pickup to drive through. It will include one room about 8 x 12 insulated with water and referigerator and stove and sink for storing, cooking, washing, etc., just to keep some of the clutter out of the house. Any suggestions as to floor plan, design, size, anything else? We live in Arkansas so we don't have too much cold weather here. It gets really cold sometimes but usually for only a few days and not much snow, but lots of rain.
We would welcome any suggestions and if any of you have a floor plan drawn out of yours we would love to see it. You can email us at mercersplace@yahoo.com Thanks
Rick and Sandy
