Hey guys and gals,
I wanted to share with you some things we have been doing to meet our need for ways to feed the goats, among other things, and recycle otherwise discarded items.
We had an old bunk bed that just would no longer work for the kids and some of the pieces on it had broken. Today, I found a need for a new hay rack. I took one of the pieces of that broken bed and made a new hay rack. We use plastic milk crates for nesting boxes for rabbits and for nesting boxes for hens. They work great, even though occasionally the rabbits will chew on them. We just put them in the rabbit hutch and fill them with hay and the rabbits eat the hay and nest in them. To make hen boxes, we stack the milk crates, fastening them with the plastic wire straps, and make as many nesting boxes as we need.
As we come up with new ideas for reusing old stuff, I will let you know.
