I have been following this post with great interest and have been hesitant to respond due to my lack of experience (have only had my girls for about 3 yrs), but here's a crazy thought. In reading about ketosis in goats, the acetone breath, ect. I was struck by how similar the symptons were to diabetes ( an area in which I have lots of experience) lack of appetite, increased thirst, acetone breath and weight loss are some of the symptons. I know also that some species of our animal friends are suseptable to diabetes. Do goats get it? I don't have a clue.
